MA Weather Outlook: Winter Warning Advisory As Storm Readies
The numbers are now going as high as 7-8 inches. See how much snow you'll be getting and when to expect it.
The possibility of significant snowfall this weekend is becoming more and more a probability. The question has gone from "Will it snow?" to "How much?" And just like that, winter is upon us.
Here's the important stuff to know about this weekend's storm:
- The National Weather Service put a winter weather advisory and warning for all of Massachusetts outside of the Cape, where a hazardous weather outlook remains. The advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
- Snow is no longer just 'possible' - it's expected. The NWS is expecting 3-6 inches, and a few spots may even see 7 or 8. See the image below to see how much snow to expect

- The snow could start as early as 5-10 a.m. and go until Sunday morning. It will likely be an all-day event. See the radar at the bottom of this story for a better idea of when it will begin in your community.
- Travel could be heavily impacted. "Where it snows at a decent rate, it can accumulate on roads this time of the year, including in the major cities," according to AccuWeather Senior Snow Warning Meteorologist Brian Wimer.
