Obituary - Carol A. Romboli

Carol A. (Gaudioso) Romboli, age 75, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away at home on June 4, 2021, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife for 54 years of Steven M. Romboli.

Born, raised and educated in Winchester, Carol was a graduate of Winchester High School with the class of 1963. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Salem State University and began a long and dedicated teaching career at Vinson-Owen Elementary School in Winchester. Her love of teaching and social personality drew her back into the teaching fold after retirement, and she continued to tutor and mentor many kids in the Winchester community.

In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, with Rome and Florence , Italy, Paris and Florida among her favorite trips. Above all else, though, she loved spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Carol leaves behind her sons: Scott M. Romboli and his wife Lynn, of Stoneham, and David J. Romboli and his wife Jennifer, of Reading. She was the adoring grandmother of Christopher, Alexa, Rachel and Julia Romboli, and the dear sister of Frank Gaudioso of AZ.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Tuesday, June 8, from 4-8PM, and again on Wednesday at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to end childhood cancer may be made in Carol’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org. www.costellofuneralhome.com.
