Suspect in Custody After Foot Chase

A suspect wanted on a murder warrant is now in the custody of after a brief foot chase that led officers through the woods.

A Winchester officer attempted a traffic stop with the suspect after the officer got a hit on the warrant at the intersection of Washington and Cross street this evening, but the suspect bailed from the vehicle.

A foot chase then began and continued into nearby woods.

It wasn't long before officers contained the suspect near Washington and Fairmont street.
