Have you smooched your pooch today?

Or thanked your cat for letting you share her house with humans?

If you’re out at the store Friday before the predicted snow hits Winchester, today would be the day to pick up some extra treats or toys for your beloved pet as it’s National Love Your Pet Day.

And since temperatures could reach 1 below on Friday night, it would be a good idea to go home, shut out the winter cold, and spend some quality time with your furry best friends.

National Love Your Pet day is the “unofficial” national holiday set aside to give your pets some extra attention and pampering, and most households in the United States have at least one pet, according to NationalCalendar.com.
