Virginia Donahue, 82, of Winchester

A beloved wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, beloved sister and more.

WINCHESTER, MA — Virginia A. Donahoe of Winchester and Somerville, peacefully on January 18, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Gerard P. Donahoe (for 47 years) and the late John J. Pacheco (for 2 years). Devoted mother of Gerard P. Donahoe, Jr. of Washington, DC; Diana M. Steel and her husband Peter Dini of Poway, CA; Carol A. Page and her husband Kenneth of Hollis, NH; and Ellen V. Ferreira and her husband Joseph of Winchester, MA. Loving grandmother of Conor and Aisling Steel; Justin and Nicholas Page; and Scott, Karina, and Thomas Ferreira. Beloved sister of Lawrence Humber and his wife Margaret of Falmouth, MA. Daughter of the late Edward and Eva Humber of Somerville, MA. She also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Virginia proudly taught in Somerville schools, including 29 years at the Powder House Community Elementary School in Somerville. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the State Teachers College at Boston and her Master's of Education from Northeastern University with various additional credits from Harvard and Boston University.

A funeral will be held from the Lane Funeral Home 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) Winchester on Monday January 23 at 9 a.m, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 thru 5pm.
