Winchester Earns Rematch With Andover In MIAA Tourney

Field hockey team gets defending state champs in first round of MIAA tournament.

The Winchester High field hockey team gets another shot at Andover after earning the No. 9 seed in the MIAA Division 1 North tournament. The tournament pairings were released Monday.

The Sachems lost to Andover, 1-0, in overtime in the sectional final last fall and the Golden Warriors went on to win the Division 1 state title. This season Winchester finished 12-4-2 while Andover earned the No. 8 seed at 11-2-5. Andover will host the first-round game Wednesday at 6 p.m. Winchester is one of four teams from the Middlesex League in the 16-team Division 1 North field.
