Winchester Resident to Row Crew at Syracuse University

Winchester resident Emily Spencer will be rowing crew at Syracuse University starting in the fall of 2016.

Spencer signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. She is a participant in Dana Hall’s Independent Athlete Program, which allows them to participate in a specialized sports that Dana Hall does not offer.

At the 51st annual Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Spencer placed 12th out of 85 boaters. She began rowing crew in 2011.

“I love rowing and that program started it all,” Spencer says. “I’ve rowed every day for seven seasons since then, and I’m going to continue in college next year.”
