WINCHESTER, Ma. - The Winchester girls' tennis team will have to wait 24 hours for their state title match after the MIAA postponed Tuesday's final. The Sachems will now face reigning champion Martha's Vineyard at noon at St. John's (S) for the Division 2 title.

For the girls' tennis team, it's a rematch they've been wanting since falling to Vineyard, 4-1, in last year's final. But be careful what you wish for. The Islanders (20-0) have won four straight state titles and in the last five years have gone a remarkable 104-1.

Meanwhile, the Winchester boys' lacrosse team has a time and an opponent for its Division 2 state final. The Sachems will play Medfield on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. at Boston University. Medfield (20-2) crushed Sandwich, 21-4, in their semifinal Monday. The Warriors won the state title in 2016 and during the run beat Winchester, 16-4, in the state semifinals.
