2 Men Indicted In Worcester Nawar Jabbar Killing

WORCESTER, MA — Two men were indicted on Friday by a grand jury for the October shooting death of 17-year-old Nawar Jabbar.

Prosecutors have said Messiah Amankwa, 18, shot Jabbar while they were sitting inside an SUV at a Park Avenue Wendy's on Oct. 24. Amankwah left the parking lot in a vehicle driven by Lopez Carrasco, 23, of Spencer.

Amankwah has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm not at home or work. Carrasco has been charged with accessory after the fact of murder, Worcester County DA Joseph Early Jr. said Friday. They were initially arrested in November.

Jabbar has been remembered by friends as a hardworking and kind person. He was taking classes at Quinsigamond Community College at the time of his killing.
