58-Year-Old Man Struck On Lincoln Street Dies

A man walking on Lincoln Street was struck and killed by a car on Thursday.

WORCESTER, MA—A 58-year-old man was killed after being hit by a car on Lincoln Street early Thursday morning.

Police said around 6:14 a.m. they were called to 580 Lincoln St., where the man had just been hit. Firefighters performed CPR on the pedestrian and he was quickly brought to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Jeep Cherokee that hit the man had been headed west on Lincoln Street and the pedestrian tried to cross Lincoln from the south side heading north, and wasn't in a marked crosswalk and wore dark clothing. The Jeep struck him with the front right side bumper.

The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene. A reconstruction unit was called in to investigate the scene and the name of the deceased has not been released.
