Bright Blue Ink Spilled In Auburn Is Nontoxic, DEP Says
Ink spilled from a tractor trailer along Southbridge Street Thursday morning, dying streets and a stream bright blue.

AUBURN, MA — The ink that spilled across a quarter-mile near the Auburn and Worcester border Thursday is nontoxic, according to state officials, although crews will still clean it up.
Auburn firefighters responded to near 38 Southbridge Street on Thursday morning on a report of an unidentified spill. Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Johnson said the ink, called INXVelope, spilled from a tractor trailer.
The vehicle had left the scene by the time firefighters arrived, which complicated efforts to identify the substance. The ink spilled across a parking lot and into a stream.

Crews are working at a large spill. The liquid has been identified as ink and stretches a quarter mile on pavement and is in the waterways. We are working with DEP, AWD and other cleanup companies to mitigate the situation. pic.twitter.com/BWxT0GoZ8F
