'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory' Events At Worcester Library

The Worcester Public Library will hold two events in February before the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" show at the Hanover Theatre,

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Public Library will host two events centered around Roald Dahl's classic "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in February. The events will coincide with a Hanover Theatre production of "Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" show in March.

The Worcester Public Library will present two family-friendly “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” events in partnership with The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts during the month of February. The events will be held on Saturday, February 22 and Saturday, February 29 at the Main Library at 3 Salem Square.

The events are free and open to the public, and each program will include two chances for participants to win a pair of tickets to the upcoming “Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” show at The Hanover Theatre, which runs from March 3 – 8, 2020.

"The Hanover Theatre is excited to continue our partnership with Worcester Public Library in bringing pure imagination to life for all ages," said Troy Siebels, president and CEO of The Hanover Theatre. "We invite you to experience the wonders of Roald Dahl's amazing tale like never before through these family-friendly events and join us for an everlasting showstopper everyone is sure to love. "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Fun" will be held on February 22 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. This celebration of the classic book will include games and activities for children ages 11 and under, and their families.

"Community Read-In: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl" will be held on Feb. 29 from 11 a.m. to noon. This event will include a read aloud, with attendees taking turns reading from the original "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" book. All ages are welcome to this read-along.

"We’re happy to be partnering with The Hanover Theatre to showcase Roald Dahl’s work," said Cynthia Bermudez, WPL Youth Services Coordinator. "Highlighting this classic children’s book is a wonderful opportunity to connect generations around a great story!"
