Coronavirus: Worcester Makes Changes To Some Waste Services

Yard waste, bulk waste, and hazardous waste collection are being disrupted by coronavirus, according to Worcester officials.

WORCESTER, MA — Regular trash and recycling will continue in Worcester through the coronavirus crisis, but some other waste collection services are being postponed due to the outbreak, officials have said.

The changes include:

  • Worcester will not open the residential drop-off sites for bulk waste and yard waste collection at the Millbury Street collection facility
  • The Millbury Street facility will still accept household recycling drop-offs Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Household hazardous waste collection scheduled for April 25 has been postponed, but a new date has not been named yet
  • Street sweeping is still set to begin on April 13
