Elderly Woman Shot In Worcester By Paintball Gunmen: Police

At least three people were hit by paintballs Wednesday afternoon in Worcester, according to police.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police arrested two men Wednesday afternoon after three people — including an elderly woman — were hit in drive-by paintball shootings, according to police.

The elderly woman was the first victim, and was found around 1:15 p.m. near Main and Allen streets. She had been shot in the face with a yellow paintball, and the impact knocked her glasses off her face, but she was not seriously injured.

A second person was shot along Queen Street. The man, who was bleeding from the paintball attack, told police he was hit by a projectile fired from a pickup Ford blue truck.

Soon after, a Worcester officer spotted the suspect vehicle near Lincoln Street and Goldthwaite Road. After pulling the truck over, the officer spotted a black paintball gun in the back seat. Around the same time, a third victim approached police.

A 21-year-old Douglas man who was driving the pickup was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a disabled victim and unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
