Fireworks Near Worcester For 4th Of July 2021

4th of July 2021 will be partially hindered by the pandemic with Worcester's usual fireworks display called off. There are others nearby.

WORCESTER, MA — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the region while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day.

July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you. Worcester officials in May announced the cancellation of the usual fireworks show at Cristoforo Colombo Park. Although the pickings are slim, there are a few events in the area to check out this year.

Worcester Red Sox fireworks

The WooSox are lighting off fireworks all summer, but the July 4 weekend will feature patriotic displays following three home games.

Fitchburg Civic Days
What: Fireworks, cannon firing
Where: Rollstone Hill, Fitchburg
When: July 3, 9 p.m. (fireworks); July 4, sunrise (cannon firing)
The usual July 4 Fitchburg Civic Days is off in 2021, but the organization will still have a fireworks show and a cannon demonstration (closed to the public).

Where: Northbridge Middle School
When: Aug. 14, 4 p.m.
Although not a July 4 event, this event in Northbridge is a chance to scratch your summer fireworks itch.

Woonsocket Independence Day Celebration

Where: World War II Veterans Memorial State Park
When: July 3
Cross the border for Woonsocket's Independence Day celebrating, featuring a fireworks show set to begin at 9 p.m.

Greenfield's Independence Day Fireworks Celebration

Where: Beacon Field
When: July 4, 9:30 p.m.
It's a bit of a drive, but Greenfield is hosting a daylong July 4 celebration beginning at 4 p.m. with music, food and fireworks.
