WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Arts Council (WAC) has released its list of 2021 grant recipients. The $219,000 in total grants will fund more than 60 projects across the city, ranging from festivals to murals.

The grant money largely comes from a state legislative appropriation. WAC got $166,700 from the state for 2021 grants, plus a $10,000 boost from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation’s Creative Worcester Initiative.

"Reflecting on this year’s grant cycle, there were numerous uncertainties and unpredictable delays due to COVID-19, but we remained hopeful. The Worcester Arts Council is thrilled that we were ultimately able to offer more grant funding in 2021 than ever before. With the support of the Mass Cultural Council and the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, WAC grant funds will benefit 65 local artists, individuals, organizations, and projects in Worcester this year," outgoing Worcester Arts Council Chair Yasmin Goris said.
