Greater Worcester Community Foundation Awards $50K to Help End Hunger
Greater Worcester Community Foundation announced the awarding of $50K+ to 19 organizations as part of the County Food Bank Fund.

From Mungo Creative Group: Greater Worcester Community Foundation announced the awarding of $50,480 to 19 organizations as part of the Worcester County Food Bank Fund to End Hunger. Those who received funding will create innovative and sustainable solutions to the problem of hunger through advocacy and programs that incorporate practices that have shown promise throughout the country or in Worcester County.
“Many of the best approaches to addressing hunger arise from local communities and organizations working together,” said Jean McMurray, executive director of the Worcester County Food Bank. “We’re excited that the Fund is a meaningful resource to the efforts of many community partners.
The non-profit organizations and their programs receiving grants to end hunger are:
Boys & Girls Club of Worcester - $2,500.00 - Kids Cafe

Gardner Community Action Committee, Inc. - $1,000.00 - Food Distribution - Tasting Tuesday
Gedakina, Inc. - $2,500.00 -Nature's Gardens
Growing Places Garden Project, Inc. - $2,800.00 - Healthy Food Access at Farmers Markets
Jeremiah's Inn - $3,000.00 - Nutrition Center and Community Garden
Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center - $2,900.00 - Food Pantry Operations
