Health Advisory Lifted For Indian Lake

The waters at Indian Lake are safe once again, now that summer is over.

WORCESTER, MA—The City of Worcester Division of Public Health and the Department of Inspectional Services have lifted a public health advisory for Indian Lake.

Laboratory results have confirmed that levels of cyanobacteria (blue-green) algae in Indian Lake have returned to normal and there is no longer a threat to public health. The lake has been reopened and regular recreation activities can resume.

All recreational lakes and ponds in Worcester are monitored for cyanobacteria. The city will continue to monitor all bodies of water for any potential problems.
