WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Red Sox will kick off the 2021 inaugural season on Tuesday with an away game against the Trenton Thunder in New Jersey — but you'll still be able to catch the team's first ever game without driving to the Garden State.

For the 2021 season, fans will be able to listen to games on the WooSox Radio Network, which will be split between The Pike 100.1 FM and NASH Icon 98.9 FM. The Pike will broadcast games on Sundays and Tuesdays, and NASH will broadcast games that take place Wednesdays through Saturdays. Both stations will broadcast the Trenton season opener and next week's home opener.

A smattering of other radio stations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island will also broadcast games this season on the WooSox Radio Network: WMRC 101.3 FM in Milford; WPKZ 1280 AM in Fitchburg and Leominster; WNRI 1380 in Woonsocket; WBLQ 103.1 FM in southeast Connecticut; and WWRI 105.5 FM in Coventry, RI.

Meanwhile, NESN will handle the May 11 home opener against the Syracuse Mets with a pre-game show beginning at 2 p.m. That game will mark the first ever played at the new Polar Park stadium in downtown Worcester. The first pitch will be thrown at 3:05 p.m.

If you want to attend a game in-person, you may have to wait. Due to lingering coronavirus restrictions, attendance at Polar Park will be capped at 25 percent of the stadium's roughly 9,500 seats. With 2,100 season tickets sold, that leaves only a few hundred seats under the capacity limits — although Gov. Charlie Baker has said more restrictions could be lifted by August.
