MA Environmental Police Find Exotic Pet In Chicopee Suburb

Police are reminding exotic pet owners to keep an eye on their pets when they take them outside.

CHICOPEE, MA — Massachusetts Environmental Police are using their latest discovery to remind exotic pet owners to keep a close eye on their pets when they take them outside. The large lizard is pictured in an officer's hand with a captions that read in part, "If you're missing this exotic pet please contact MEP Dispatch at 1-800-632-8075."

The animal was found in Chicopee and will be held until its owner comes forward. Police reminded exotic pet owners to see the state website for information on how to care for exotic animals. The only animals you can take out of the wild in Massachusetts are certain reptiles and amphibians.
