Man Dies After Shooting Near Worcester Restaurant
The 44-year-old victim was found outside a Chandler Street restaurant early Saturday morning.

WORCESTER, MA — A 44-year-old man died early Saturday morning after a shooting along Chandler Street, according to Worcester police.
Officers went to the Paku Lounge at the intersection of Mason and Chandler streets just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday after receiving an alert from a ShotSpotter gunshot detection device.
According to police, the victim was on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, which is where he was pronounced dead.

This is Worcester's fourth non-police involved homicide so far in 2021, and the second this week.
A man shot in July along Mount Pleasant Street died in February. Several weeks ago, Nan Thang, 71, was stabbed to death in her apartment, and her son has been arrested and charged. On May 5, a 65-year-old man died after he was stabbed while riding with another man in a cab. Ramon Castro, 53, has been charged with aggravated assault and battery with a knife in that killing.
