Man With Knife Chased People In Worcester Neighborhood: Police

No one was injured in the Tuesday night incident in the Piedmont area, Worcester police said.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police arrested and charged a 37-year-old man Tuesday night after he chased a group of people while holding a kitchen knife, according to police.

The incident happened near 9 p.m. Tuesday along Oxford Street in the Piedmont neighborhood, police said. The man, who is an Oxford Street resident, emerged from a home and "began shouting and running at a group of people," police said in a news release.

When officers arrived, members of the group pointed them to the rear of a home, where they found the man still holding the knife. He was arrested and charged with three counts of disorderly conduct, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and disturbing the peace.
