Mom, Killed In Kitchen, Helped Teens Battle Addiction: Patch PM

Traci Swan's family remembers her as a loving "fighter" who was always moving forward. She was stabbed to death at 27 years old.

It's Tuesday, June 9. The state reported 55 new deaths and 263 cases of coronavirus, bringing the totals to 7,408 and 103,889, respectively. See the full report here.

Coronavirus cases are dropping as the temperature is rising across Massachusetts, tempting many to resume as much of a normal life as they can. Gov. Charlie Baker is warning residents not to get too comfortable, though. "No one should take the foot off the pedal," Baker warned Tuesday morning.

The start of phase two has come amid encouraging numbers, but while industries such as restaurants and retail have gotten a spark of life, another is trying to figuring out a plan to get back online. Bars were originally categorized in Phase 3 of the governor's reopening plan, which could begin later this month, but the administration moved those without food licenses into Phase 4.
