New Esports Bar Opens In Worcester Along Shrewsbury Street

All Systems Go MA says it's the first competitive video game bar along the East Coast.

WORCESTER, MA — What may be the first competitive video game bar along the East Coast opened Thursday in Worcester.

All Systems Go MA will offer gamers a place to compete against each other in popular games like "Fortnite," "Call of Duty" and "World of Warcraft." Alongside the games, All Systems Go serves beer and cocktails, espresso and brick-oven pizza. The owners first announced plans for the bar in late 2019.

The combination of bars and video games is not entirely new to Worcester. The arcade bar Pixels and Pints opened along Grafton Street in 2019. The owners are in the process of moving the bar, however, with plans to reopen in October. The Savepoint Tavern also opened in 2019 along Highland Street, but it closed at the end of September with owners citing coronavirus restrictions.

Worcester was also somewhat of an esports hub. Becker College, which is now closed, offered an esports management degree, instructing students how to plan and design large gaming events. The college also fielded a varsity esports team.

All Systems Go is located at 225 Shrewsbury St. with an entrance along Casco Street. The bar will be open Wednesday to Sunday 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. The bar is 21+ Thursday to Saturday after 7 p.m.
