RI Police Arrest Man Wanted In West Boylston Motel Shooting
Brandon Coldwell, 27, of Boston, was arrested in Lincoln, RI, on Sunday, and is also facing charges related to manufacturing MDMA.
WEST BOYLSTON, MA — A Boston man wanted in connection to a May shooting at the Classic Suites motel in West Boylston was arrested over the weekend in Rhode Island, according to state police.
According to West Boylston police, Brandon Coldwell, 27, went to a room at the motel on May 5, pulled out a gun and tried to rob a man and a woman. Police said Coldwell shot the man before fleeing in a taxi. The two victims and Coldwell knew each other, police said.
Coldwell was pulled over early Sunday morning along Route 146 in Lincoln, RI. He was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder, manufacturing MDMA, resisting arrest, two counts of obstructing an officer, vandalism, disorderly conduct and possession of a gun without a permit, Rhode Island state police said.

The victim in the May 5 motel shooting was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, West Boylston police said at the time.
