Route 146, I-190 Getting New Exit Signs
Say goodbye to the old exits. MassDOT's statewide renumbering projects comes to the Worcester area this week.

WORCESTER, MA — Big changes are coming to a highway near you.
This week, MassDOT will begin replacing exit numbers along Route 146 and I-190, part of a statewide project to switch exits to a milepost-based system.
MassDOT crews will begin replacing exits on Wednesday, and the work will generally take place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Drivers can expect to see all Route 146 exits between Worcester and Uxbridge changed by the end of the week.

Work to change exits along I-190 between West Boylston and Leominster will begin on March 21 during the same overnight hours, and will also take two days to complete.
The Federal Highway Administration is requiring all states to switch to a milepost-based system. MassDOT completed renumbering exits along the Mass Pike between Boston and the New York border earlier this year.
