Spring Towing Season In Worcester Begins Monday
Worcester will soon begin sweeping neighborhood streets. That means you'll need to move your car.

WORCESTER, MA — With spring weather setting in, it's time for Worcester's annual neighborhood street sweeping program — in other words, you'll probably need to move your car at some point in the next few weeks to avoid getting towed.
Worcester has been sweeping arterial roads across the city recently. But street sweepers will begin hitting neighborhood streets beginning March 29, according to city officials.
Much like the fall leaf collection program, the public works department has divided the city into small chunks, and you can check the DPW website for when it's your street's turn. In general, sweeping will happen on your trash day between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Any cars parked along roads during scheduled sweeping may be towed. The city is also warning residents not to put yard waste in gutters. There is no spring yard waste pickup in Worcester.
However, the city is set to reopen the yard and bulk waste facilities on April 3. The three sites are open 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and Sundays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Millbury Street site only).
