CHARLTON, MA — Tree House Brewing recently reopened its sprawling campus for sit-down service for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began more than a year ago.

The 110-acre Charlton facility was open for curbside pickup of canned beer, coffee and merchandise over the past year, but beer lovers couldn't stay to have a pint or two on the premises. Tree House is now open without any restrictions, and no reservations are required.

Tree House closed its taproom in mid-March 2020, just a few days before Gov. Charlie Baker ordered a widespread closure of bars and restaurants in the state. All of those restrictions lifted on May 29, and Baker's statewide emergency order ends on Tuesday.

The brewery is one of the largest attractions in central Massachusetts, and during the pandemic drew beer lovers from across New England and beyond who lined up at the Route 20 brewery to buy $100+ cases of beer. Several of Tree House's beers are rated among the best in the U.S.

The brewery also expanded during the pandemic. Tree House opened two new locations in Deerfield and Sandwich, which are still only open for curbside orders, according to the brewery's website. The owners also began distilling spirits during the pandemic.
