Woman, 20, Dies Weeks After Worcester Crash

The April 19 crash also left the driver with serious injuries, according to Worcester police.

WORCESTER, MA — A 20-year-old woman died Thursday night weeks after she was involved in a rollover crash in southeast Worcester, according to police.

The crash happened April 19 just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Sunderland Road and Maranda Street. The man driving the SUV lost control along Sunderland Road and hit a tree. The SUV then flipped over and caught fire, police reported.

Police said both the driver and the woman had serious injures when they were pulled from the burning vehicle. The driver was still hospitalized as of Friday morning, police said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The exact cause of the incident was still under investigation on Friday.
