WORCESTER, MA — A 71-year-old woman was stabbed to death Friday morning in Worcester, and police say they have arrested a male member of her family in connection to the killing.

Worcester police said the stabbing was reported at around 11 a.m. at an apartment building along Ekman Street. Police believe the violence was related to a domestic incident.

Friday's killing is Worcester's second non-police related homicide so far in 2021. A man who was shot in July 2020 died of his injuries in February, and that was counted as the city's first 2021 homicide.
