WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Red Sox are making one of the best vaccine offers yet.

Anyone who visits Polar Park through Sunday to get a free coronavirus vaccine will receive free admission (and a free WooSox hat) to that day's game. Any fan who already has a ticket can get a vaccine and receive a free ticket for a future game. The team will offer 50 shots per game this week.

Staff from the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center will be on hand at Polar Park to give out the Johnson & Johnson version of the vaccine, which is only available to people over 18. UMass Memorial will also have paramedics standing by.

"We are proud to be among the first Triple-A teams in the country to offer vaccines for fans during our ballgames," WooSox President Charles Steinberg said in a news release. "We look forward to continuing to do our part to inspire more people to become vaccinated in the City of Worcester and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts."

Teams like the Seattle Mariners and the Triple-A Columbus Clippers have also given out vaccines at games. A coronavirus vaccine clinic held last week at Polar Park saw over 200 inoculations.

Polar Park is now operating at its full 9,500-seat capacity after all coronavirus restrictions were lifted statewide on Saturday.
