Worcester Declares Winter Parking Ban, Delays Trash Pickup
A nor'easter headed to the Worcester area Wednesday night could drop up to 18 inches of snow, according to forecasts.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester is preparing for a major snow event beginning Wednesday night, declaring a parking ban and canceling trash and recycling pickup.
This week's winter parking ban goes into effect at 6 p.m. Wednesday and may last for a day or longer. The ban means no on-street parking in the downtown area, along bus routes or major arteries, and parking on the odd side of the street only in all other neighborhoods.
Worcester is also canceling trash and recycling pickup on Thursday, moving pickup to Friday. Friday pickup will happen on Saturday, according to the Department of Public Works.

The latest forecast calls for between 12 and 18 inches of snow in the Worcester area. The storm is supposed to begin moving into the region around 7 p.m. and will last into Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
