Worcester Event to Help Local Seniors with Life's Next Chapter

Senior Living, Financial, Legal & Veteran's Experts to Present How to Successfully Transition to a Supported Living Lifestyle on January 23

Tatnuck Park at Worcester, a Benchmark assisted living and memory care community in Worcester, Mass., will host a panel event on Thurs., January 23, 2020 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Let’s Talk: Planning for LIFE’s Next Chapter will feature experts with decades of experience helping local seniors and their families address the healthcare, financial, legal, social and other important considerations that aging brings.

A panel of experts will tackle the difficult topics, including how to know which option is the right one, little-known financial solutions, the importance of engagement and much more. A Q&A will follow the presentation. Speakers will include the following.

  • Laura Silver Traiger, a senior associate at the law firm of Starr Vander Linden concentrating on estate and Medicaid planning, public benefits protection using special needs trusts, guardianships/conservatorships and estate administration.
  • Patty Servaes, founder of Elder Resource Benefits Consulting, is dedicated to helping seniors and their families understand the cost of senior care and potential Veteran funding.
  • Maggi Chase is a top real estate agent at Common Moves and a representative for Elderlife Financial Services where she helps create sound plans for paying for senior living.
  • Amy Richter is an associate professor of history at Clark University who recently helped her mother relocate from New York City and her home of 50 years into assisted living.
  • Jennifer LaCroix, CDAL, CDP, executive director of Tatnuck Park, has over 20 years of experience in assisted living, memory care and hospitality.

“Taking any next step in one’s life is a big deal, but especially the decisions we make after we retire,” says Jennifer LaCroix, executive director of Tatnuck Park. “We plan for years before we have children, go to college or embark on a career but we find that people very rarely put as much thought and research into the decision over what to do when themselves or a loved one needs additional support. This is a big decision and we want to help people make the right one.”
