Worcester Man Charged In Chandler Street Slaying
Angel Ortiz-Santos, 28, turned himself in to Worcester police on Tuesday, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.
WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man has been arrested and charged following a fatal shooting early Saturday along Chandler Street — the second time the 28-year-old has been implicated in a fatal shooting.
Angel Ortiz-Santos, of Pleasant Street, turned himself in to Worcester police Tuesday morning. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury and illegal possession of a firearm, and was ordered held without bail, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.
Carlos Cruz, 44, of Worcester, was found shot outside the Paku Lounge around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. He died about an hour later at a Worcester hospital. Cruz was a father of four who worked at UMass Memorial, according to his obituary.

Ortiz-Santos was charged with first-degree murder following the 2015 shooting death of Christian Omar Puello-Rosado in Worcester. He was found not guilty in 2018, according to reports.
