Worcester Man Faces Multiple Charges In Killing Of Mother

Dal Khan Mung was arraigned Wednesday following the Friday stabbing death of his mother, Nan Thang.

WORCESTER, MA — A city man is facing multiple charges in the Friday stabbing death of his mother, according to reports.

Dal Khan Mung, 29, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of domestic abuse and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious injury. He appeared at the court hearing from a bed at Bridgewater State Hospital after suffering self-inflicted stab wounds on Friday, according to MassLive.

Worcester police responded to a Halmstad Street apartment Friday morning on a report of a stabbing. Inside the home, officers found 71-year-old Nan Thang decapitated. Mung was still at the apartment when police arrived.

Thang was Worcester's second non-police homicide victim of 2021.
