Worcester Native to Serve on Honor Society E-Board

From WNE University: Katie Gallagher from Worcester, MA, (01606) was elected to serve as Public Relations Chair of the 2017-2018 executive board of the Western New England University Pynchon Chapter of Mortar Board National Honor Society. Election results were announced on April 10 at the University chapter's annual induction ceremony. As Public Relations Chair, Gallagher will see that chapter activities are publicized both locally and nationally.

Mortar Board is the senior honor society at Western New England University. The society is open to those students who have demonstrated both academic excellence and leadership on campus and in the community. Students in the top 35% of the junior class are considered eligible for the society with the membership being selected by the existing members of the previous year. The Mortar Board Society hopes to recognize student achievement, while also serving as a focal point of planning and collaboration for senior leaders.
Gallagher is majoring in Criminal Justice.

Western New England University has a total of 18 honor societies on campus. Close to 600 students were inducted into these organizations in the Spring 2017 semester.
