WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester police officer suffered "open wounds" after he was bitten several times by a man during an arrest attempt in the Main South area Thursday afternoon, according to police.
Just after 2:30 p.m., police went to Beacon Street to confront two men who were riding dirt bikes in the roadway. Police arrested one of the men, a 27-year-old Beacon Street resident, on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
The second man, a 22-year-old Dayton Street resident, ran from police. One officer chased the man, who was wearing a fanny pack that police believed may have contained a gun. The officer tackled the 22-year-old, and was bitten on the arm and chest while trying to arrest the man.
