Drugs, Gun Found In Taco Shop: Worcester PD

Police said they executed a search warrant at Beto's Tacos on Main Street in Worcester and found a loaded gun and several bags of drugs.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police said officers found a loaded gun and several bags of drugs while executing a search warrant at a taco restaurant in town on Friday.

The Worcester Police Vice Squad executed a warrant on Friday targeting Alberto Alvarez, 39, of Birch Street. When officers spotted Alvarez, he was entering the building listed on the warrant, Beto's Tacos on Main Street.

Inside the restaurant, officers found a loaded handgun, a loaded .223 caliber rifle, several bags of what appeared to be cocaine, a large amount of what appeared to be methamphetamine, scales and other drug packaging material, according to police. Alvarez did not have a license to carry firearms or a firearms identification card, according to police.

Alvarez, was arrested and faces several charges.
