Worcester Schools To Offer Coronavirus Shots To Students Over 12

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester Public Schools is making rapid moves to vaccinate students against coronavirus.

Superintendent Maureen Binienda said the district will begin hosting walk-in vaccine clinics for middle and high school students starting next week. The clinics come after the Pfizer version of the vaccine was approved this week for people age 12 and up.

The two-dose Pfizer version is so far the only coronavirus vaccine approved for people under 18. Gov. Charlie Baker said the state will start offering the vaccine to people as young as 12 beginning today.

The Worcester Public Schools (WPS) clinics will be held beginning on May 18 and run through the end of the school year. Here's the schedule, according to WPS:

Middle Schools

First dose

• Forest Grove, Sullivan — May 24, 3:30 to 6 p.m.
• Claremont/UPCS — May 25, 2:30 to 6 p.m.
• Worcester East, Burncoat — May 26, 2:30 to 6 p.m.

Second dose

• Claremont/UPCS — June 15, 2:30 to 6 p.m.
• Worcester East, Burncoat — June 16, 2:30 to 6 p.m.
• Forest Grove, Sullivan — June 17, 3:30 to 6 p.m.

High Schools

First dose

• Worcester Technical — May 18, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Worcester North, South — May 19, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Doherty, Claremont, University Park — May 20, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Burncoat — May 21, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Second dose

• Worcester Technical — June 8, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Worcester North, South — June 9, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Doherty, Claremont, University Park — June 10, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
