First Winter Storm of the Season For Wrentham

Second winter storm may be on the way later this week.

WALPOLE, MA - Though winter officially started a week ago, it has not really felt like winter for many people.

That’s about to change this week, with the possibility of two winter storms.

High pressure will build into the region on Sunday, and will bring cold temperatures late Sunday.Monday will be sunny with a high of 34 degrees.

The first storm is likely to create a hazardous morning commute on Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. A wintry mix - snow, freezing rain and sleet - is expected to start very early Monday morning, and will bring between one and three inches of snow.

The greatest impact is expected Tuesday morning, though the season’s first snow could last into Tuesday evening.

National Weather Service forecasters are predicting a brief reprieve on Wednesday, before another the possibility of another storm on Thursday. There is a low risk for another wintry mix on Thursday across the interior of Southern New England.
