Training Barracks Named for Fallen Norfolk Soldier

According to the Sun Chronicle, fallen soldier Sgt. Adam Kennedy of Norfolk will be the new namesake at a barracks at Fort Benning.

Kennedy was killed in Iraq on Easter Sunday in 2007, and a dedication ceremony was held at the fort where he was stationed for a time.

Fort Benning has been a major army post since 1918. During World War II Fort Benning had 197,159 acres (797.87 km²) with billeting space for 3,970 officers and 94,873 enlisted persons.
