Wrentham police responded to a minor bus crash on Wednesday; helped stop a driver losing consciousness due to a diabetic condition Tuesday.
WRENTHAM, MA – It's been a busy couple of days on the roads of Wrentham as Wrentham police responded to an elementary school bus accident Wednesday morning, after responding to a rush-hour crash and erratic driver with a medical condition on Tuesday.
Wrentham police categorized the bus accident as "extremely minor" with no injuries. The accident occurred in the area of Lake Street and Archer Street.
Wrentham Police Chief Bill McGrath said a car hit the tire of the bus with both vehicles going slow. The bus driver was required to report the incident, and Wrentham police responded.

McGrath said that he boarded the bus and told the children that the accident meant they did not have to go to school. After listening to them cheer, he then revealed to the students — including his own son — that they did, indeed, still have to go to school.
The reaction to the truth was presumably somewhat less enthused.

Officers did take a list of all of the passenger's names and school administration was notified.
It was a more consequential day on Tuesday when a three-car crash with injuries on Creek Street and South Street backed up rush hour traffic in all directions before officers could clear the scene and get traffic moving again.
Later Tuesday, Wrentham police received 9-1-1 calls from drivers about an erratic driver swerving and crossing over into oncoming traffic. When the driver did not pull over for the police siren, Mansfield police pulled aside and determined the driver was having a medical reaction. The officer then pulled ahead of the car and used the rear bumper to bring the driver, was losing consciousness, to a stop.
Mansfield police determined the driver was having a diabetic reaction, but Wareham fire personnel were able to regulate the driver, who soon showed improvement.
