Wrentham Would Get Up To $500k In State Economic Development Bill

WRENTHAM, MA — The Massachusetts House and Senate agreed on a $627 million economic development bill early Wednesday morning, which would provide up to $500,000 for projects in Wrentham.

The bill, which was passed almost unanimously following a session that lasted until after 4 a.m., now heads to Gov. Charlie Baker's desk for approval.

The bill would provide funding for the following projects in Wrentham:

• $500,000 for a competitive grant program to be administered by the department of early education and care for licensed early education and care providers to assist with operating costs and costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will assist the towns of Wrentham, Attleboro, North Attleboro, Franklin, Millis, Natick, Needham, Norfolk, Plainville, Sherborn, Wayland, and Wellesley based on financial need, current reopening status, and future plans to reopen.
