10 People Died Along Michigan Roads Over Holiday Weekend

The number of fatalities is comparable with last year, according to the Michigan State Police.

LANSING, MI –Ten people died in traffic fatalities along Michigan roads and highways during the holiday weekend, reported the Michigan State Police on Monday. The number of traffic deaths is the same as 2016, the state police said.

The figure is a preliminary figure as of the deaths reported to state police as of 11 a.m. on Monday. State police consider the holiday weekend's start at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

"The MSP continues to urge motorists not to drive whileimpaired, always use proper restraints and to make responsible driving decisions," said Spl/F/Lt. Jim Flegel, State Services Bureau.
