Michigan Adds 1,379 New Coronavirus Cases, 19 Deaths Friday

The number of COVID-19 deaths reported in Michigan is approaching 15,000.

MICHIGAN — Michigan added 1,379 new coronavirus cases and 19 more COVID-19 deaths Friday, according to the most recent data released by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services officials.

Friday's updated figures bring Michigan's coronavirus total to 566,630 confirmed cases and 14,797 reported deaths.

The state reported 1,358 new COVID-19 cases and 74 COVID-19 deaths on Thursday. More than 481,800 people in Michigan have recovered from the coronavirus, officials reported Saturday.

According to state data, Michigan also has reported 52,869 probable COVID-19 cases and 952 probable COVID-19 deaths. Adding those numbers into the confirmed totals released by the state brings Michigan's figures to 619,499 cases and 15,750 deaths.

Michigan also has reported that more than 10 million laboratory tests have been administered, including more than 9.6 million diagnostic tests.
