Michigan Reports 939 New Coronavirus Cases, 11 Deaths Wednesday
Michigan now has 577,203 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 15,188 reported COVID-19 deaths.
MICHIGAN — Michigan has added 939 new cases of the coronavirus and 11 more COVID-19 deaths, according to the most recent coronavirus data released Wednesday by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Michigan now has confirmed 577,203 cases of the coronavirus and 15,188 reported COVID-19 deaths, following Wednesday's figures.
The state reported 775 new COVID-19 cases and 19 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday. State health officials said Saturday that nearly 518,000 people in Michigan had recovered from the coronavirus.

Wednesday's coronavirus update came shortly after the state announced that more than 150 cases of the coronavirus variant from the United Kingdom had been confirmed across 12 counties in the state.
Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, Michigan's Chief Medical Executive, said at a news conference Wednesday that 157 cases of B.1.1.7, a faster-spreading variant of the coronavirus that was first discovered in the U.K. Khaldun's announcement came after the state announced Tuesday evening that 90 people at the Bellamy Creek Correction Facility in Ionia tested positive for the coronavirus variant from the U.K.
