West and southwest winds are expected to reach about 30-40 mph and will lead to areas of blowing snow and reduced visibility Friday, the NWS said.
Wind chills are expected to reach near zero degrees, according to the NWS.
An arctic cold front will bring a surge of cold air into the region Friday along with very gusty winds, the NWS reported early Friday morning. The system is capable of creating wind gusts of up to 35-45 mph, the NWS said on Twitter.

As the snow comes to an end the wind is going to pick up and it’s going to get cold! Sounds like a good day to work at home if you can. If not set that alarm extra early so you can get the car warm and clear off all that snow. And as always let’s be careful out there! pic.twitter.com/HigHVB1eFR
