A man noticed something wasn't right on his morning trip to the bathroom – and called the police.

TRAVERSE CITY, MI – To stop crime, police will tell you to watch for things out of the ordinary. One man in this northern Michigan city did just that on his morning trip to the bathroom.
The toilet seat was down, police Chief Jeff O’Brien told the Traverse City Record-Eagle. “He always leaves it up.”
The man, who lives alone, summoned police to house just after 5 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.

And, indeed, officers did find something odd: A 26-year-old man passed out in the man’s garage. The visitor was found with the resident’s wallet and prescription drugs, according to the news report.
Police said the unwanted visitor also helped himself to food and “lounged around the living room,” according to the report. Police are pursuing larceny and breaking and entering charges against the man, according to the report.
