Tragedy Upon Grief: MI Mom, Son Die On Way To Husband’s Funeral
Loralie Hunter and Troy Bass died in a car collision shortly before Hunter's husband's scheduled funeral.
BELLEVUE TOWNSHIP, MI — Tragedy struck a Michigan family twice on Friday when a mother and son were killed in a car collision just before a funeral for the woman's husband, authorities said.
Loralie Hunter, 71, and her son, 51-year-old Troy Bass, were killed when their vehicle was hit by a pickup truck just before 10 a.m. in Bellevue Township on Cronk Highway, near Battle Creek Highway, according to the Eaton County Sheriff's Office.
Another person in the vehicle with the two sustained serious injuries, The Lansing State Journal reported. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.

The group was on its way to the funeral for Hunter's husband, which was scheduled for 10:30 a.m., according to the paper. Ross Hunter died April 10 at the age of 60, his obituary said.
Both Loralie and Ross Hunter’s funerals will be held Saturday, according to the paper.
