- Teachers return to work in the Berkley School District  on Monday, Aug. 26. The district will be closed Friday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 2, for Labor Day. Students' first full day will be Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- A Mom2Mom sale will be held starting at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Congregation Beth Shalom in Oak Park. Admission costs $2.
- The Berkley Parks & Recreation Department will host an ice cream social from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Berkley Community Center. Information on the department's fall programs will be available during the event. Call 248-658-3470 for more information.
- Huntington Woods resident Dave Falk will host an acoustic open mic night at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Goldfish Tea Room in Royal Oak.
- O'Mara's Irish Restaurant in Berkley will host a "Jamaican Me Crazy" patio pizza party featuring reggae music by Lucky Brown starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29. Call 248-399-6750 to make a reservation.
